An intimate journey over dreamy soundscapes and a laid back hip hop beat. A traveling song that draws you in immediately with its catchy and irresistibly relatable hook. A sort of diary entry about life on the road as a musician, yearning to feel connected with long distanced loved ones, yet wanting to escape from all the pressing obligations that await after a long trek.
Written as a complete accident during a rehearsal in the Fall of 2022 - after an epic 5 month road tour. "Hiatus" became the last song composed for the album and quickly turned into a band and friend favorite.

Lyrics

Been on the road for months, I've been avoiding things, decline to face this, I'm on hiatus

Been on the road for months, Been on the road for months,
decline to face this, I'm on hiatus

Been on the road for months, I've been avoiding things, decline to face this, I'm on hiatus

Port Townsend down at low tide. Port Townsend down at the low tide of the night. Been on the road for months
Port Townsend down at low tide, closing down the bar line, another show done, I start the journey home

Been on the road for months, I've been avoiding things, decline to face this, I'm on hiatus

A little bit obsessed. A tad bit overdressed
(want you to know I'm here for you)

Outside of my right mind, blindsided by hindsight, want you to know I'm here for you

When you're down and dour you won't call their bluff
It just can't go swimmingly, can't take it seriously
As if it were ever here and now, now, now

Always in my head, talk me off this ledge, a pool of my own dread, a bladed double edge
As if it were ever here and now, now, now
